What We Believe

What does the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit believe?

We believe that all people are sacred, and that our calling is to devote our lives to learning and practicing what it means to love God and our neighbor as ourselves.

We believe that seeking a relationship with the God, Christ and the Holy Spirit is a life-long journey, to be supported by the church.

We believe that engagement in study, prayer, sacramental worship, service and spiritual community provide essential guidance and nourishment as we grow.

We believe that open minds and hearts, a desire for truth and a willingness to act on behalf of others and creation are all signs of a vital faith.

We believe that we are called, with God’s help, to be grounded in the Baptismal Covenant of the Episcopal Church and that we live into that covenant in community and relationship with God, with one another, and with creation from which we are not separate.

We are a congregation in the Diocese of Western North Carolina which is part of The Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is part of the world-wide Anglican Communion.
